As a family business that has proudly called Lanzarote home for almost 40 years, we believe that the best holidays begin with genuine personal care. Our aim is not only to provide beautiful accommodation, but also to help every guest experience the island through the eyes of the people who know and love it best.

Meet our
Family

René

René van Leeuwen has dedicated his life to serving both visitors and the local community. Throughout the years, he has worked as a professional diver, diving instructor, teacher at an unemployed school, captain of a chill out boat introducing countless visitors to Lanzarote’s spectacular coastline. He also served for many years as Chief of the Lanzarote Volunteer Fire Brigade, a role that reflects his commitment, leadership and passion for helping others. He was the founder of the rescue diving team of the Red Cross, and the founder of the first diving club CAS. Although now retired, René continues to personally oversee the maintenance and care of our properties, ensuring every accommodation is prepared to the highest standard.

Dea

Dea van Leeuwen is the heart and driving force behind Accommodation Lanzarote, although she originally graduated as a teacher. All those years of working closely with guests from around the world shaped her philosophy of hospitality. Today she oversees every aspect of the business, from reservations and administration to logistics and guest communication, ensuring that every stay runs smoothly from the first enquiry to departure. Her attention to detail, organisation and genuine care for people are reflected in every part of the guest experience. Her passion for hospitality led her to build what has become a trusted family business, welcoming guests from all over the world for many years.

Lobke

Lobke Juanita van Leeuwen, daughter of René and Dea, holds a degree in Tourism Management and represents the next generation of the family business. She combines professional expertise with a genuine passion for welcoming guests, always looking for new ways to make every holiday even more enjoyable. Beyond her work with Accommodation Lanzarote, she also coordinates the youth division of the Lanzarote Volunteer Fire Brigade, reflecting the family’s long-standing commitment to the island and its community.

Iriome

Iriome, Lobke’s partner, completes the family team with his practical knowledge, versatility and hands-on approach. Having built a career working at sea, on land and within emergency services, he has developed exceptional technical skills and an instinct for solving any challenge. Today, alongside running his own towing company, he plays a key role within Accommodation Lanzarote, supporting property maintenance, improvements and day-to-day operations.

Many guests may also know René and Dea as the former owners of Safari Diving Lanzarote (1989 to 2005), one of Lanzarote’s best-known diving centres, and later as the former owners of Sea Fun Lanzarote (2014 to 2021), where they continued sharing their passion for the island and the sea.

We believe that the small details make the biggest difference, and that’s why we take pride in offering every guest a personal experience rather than simply a place to stay. Our local knowledge, decades of experience and passion for Lanzarote allow us to recommend authentic restaurants, beautiful beaches, scenic walks and hidden gems that many visitors never discover.

Our greatest reward is knowing that our guests leave with wonderful memories, feeling not only that they have enjoyed an unforgettable holiday, but that they have found a place where they are always welcome to return.
